Boujaad Moroccan Rug - Middle Atlas Mountains, Central Morocco

A Celebration of Hospitality and Home Brimming with character and folk-art charm, this Boujaad rug is a rare "pictorial" piece from the Middle Atlas. Set against a soft, glowing pinky-apricot base, the composition is framed by an unusual and delicate white clover border running down each side. The ends are anchored by eight large, striking green and white diamonds, while the field is playfully scattered with smaller diamonds and—most uniquely—a series of woven teapots in various colors and shapes.

Symbolism: The Ritual of the Mint

In Moroccan culture, the teapot is more than a household object; it is the ultimate symbol of hospitality, friendship, and welcoming. * The Teapot Motif: By weaving teapots directly into the rug, the weaver is imbuing the piece with the energy of a "warm welcome." It represents a home that is always open to guests and a life rich in community.

The Clover Border: The white clover-like shapes along the edges are often interpreted as symbols of luck and the abundance of the natural landscape.

The Eight Diamonds: The large green and white diamonds at either end act as "gatekeepers." Green is a sacred color in Morocco, representing paradise and nature, while the diamonds themselves represent protection and the watchful eye of the weaver.
