Antique Indonesian Teak Grinder - Hand carved square pedestal
A relic of rural tradition, commonly known as a Lesung or mortar base, this antique Indonesian grinder is a striking example of functional folk art. Carved from a single block of dense, aged hardwood, its primitive square form carries the weight and character of decades of village use. Whether originally used for crushing rice or grinding aromatic spices, the softened edges and deep patina tell a story of communal life and the hand-hewn traditions of the Indonesian archipelago.
Material: 100% Teak wood
Dimensions: 40cm long (inc handle) x 30cm wide x 21cm high
Please note: Each grinder is unique in shape, size, and finish due to its handmade and vintage nature.
